I had the pleasure of playing the Wiens “Bench Copy” at the Gryphon String shop in Palo Alto, CA. about 6 weeks ago. Frank Ford put me in a back room and left me alone with the mando for an hour and a half. It is a wonderful mando, in my opinion. Super trebly, light on the base. That is, it had a very strong upper mid and high end but the lower end was strong but not fat, if you know what I mean. I believe that mandolin could be heard in any ensemble.
How does #41 compare? Does it have more mid and lower end response?
You left out two important items, nut width and is the fretboard flat or radius? These are critical items to me.
Keep up the good work, you are doing fine!
